Hello all!
Welcome to the Community Update for November.
Community Prioritization Process
We officially launched the Magento Open Source Prioritization Process this month in conjunction with the Magento Association to empower the Magento Open Source community and help decide what gets into the code base.
Thank you to those who voted up the Pull Requests. Here is the list of top 10 PRs voted by the community that are being worked on this month. These selected PRs have a label “Community Picked“.
This process is a team effort by Community, Adobe and Magento Association and needs your help for successful execution. These 5 Pull Requests (out of the 10 selected) are waiting on review from Community Maintainers –
This is going to be an ongoing process, so continue to vote up the issues that you would like to get incorporated into the code base. The Magento Association is currently recruiting a Community Council to help with the process. Please reach out to [email protected], if you would like to get more involved in the process.
Enhancements to Payment Services for Magento Open Source
Customizable statement descriptors: Merchants can now add a Soft Descriptor to websites or individual store views configuration that show on customer transaction bank statements to delineate brands, stores, or product lines. This way merchants who operate multiple brands or sites can have a more relevant name, so shoppers recognize the charge and do not call it in as fraud.
Ability to offer only PayPal without credit cards: Now merchants will have the ability to offer PayPal (including PayLater & Venmo) without having to offer credit card processing. This allows merchants to qualify for PayPal payment methods even if they don’t need credit cards. In addition, if merchants are using an existing provider for credit cards, they can still work with Adobe and offer all the PayPal payment options for more choice for shoppers.
Visual reporting: We have just taken data insights to the next level by offering a visual representation of data so merchants can see the health of their business visually, in a glance.
Multiple Business Accounts: Payment Services now includes the ability to set up a merchant account to use multiple PayPal business accounts. This enables the merchant to operate your stores in multiple countries using different currencies, or to use Adobe Commerce for a portion of your business.
Payment services for Magento Open Source offers a fully-integrated experience where all data is visible and accessible within Magento Open Source Admin.

Beta In-flight for Real-Time Customer Data Platform Audiences in Adobe Commerce
Join the beta program for Real-Time CDP Audiences in Adobe Commerce (reach out to Poornima Agoramurthy and Rohan Bhatt )
What: Merchants with both Adobe Commerce & Real-Time CDP can now personalize the shopping experience by delivering highly relevant site content and promotions, customized to customer segments built and managed within Real-Time CDP.
Why: With Real-Time CDP as a single source of truth for rich customer data, merchants can centralize data management, dynamically personalize experiences in real-time, and drive conversion.
How: Merchants can select Adobe Commerce as a new destination within Adobe Real-Time CDP. When the destination is configured, audience information is available in real-time to dynamically personalize cart price rules and content blocks in Adobe Commerce.
Catalog Service for Adobe Commerce
This month, and in preparation for Black Friday and Cyber Monday we have enabled our customers to use the Catalog Service for Adobe Commerce through API Mesh. API Mesh enables developers to integrate and configure private or third-party APIs and other software interfaces with Adobe products using Adobe IO. Moreover, it allows to serve these APIs through a single gateway, therefore, developers can query the combined sources through a single GraphQL query.
There are some other performance improvements which you can see in more detail in the Catalog Service for Adobe Commerce release notes.
New Space for Community Engineering Recorded Videos
Migration of playlists and videos from Magento Community Engineering YouTube channel to the Adobe Developers YouTube channel is still currently underway. 3 playlists have been fully migrated over and there are 4 more that we intend to move over. We will retain the old channel’s videos for archival purposes. The Adobe Developers channel will be our new home for content surrounding all things Adobe Commerce developer-related, so be sure to subscribe and turn on notifications to stay in the loop.
We are forgoing automation of this process and opting for manual uploading as we are close to finished, so if you see something that isn’t right feel free to reach out to @Dan Mooney in Open Source Slack workspace. Also take note that not every video will be migrated over, as some were deemed outdated and no longer relevant.
